Migrations to Shopware 6

Migration from Shopware 5, Magento 1/2, WooCommerce, PrestaShop or a custom platform — with SEO, customers and order history preserved.

A migration is more than moving products. Done poorly it loses SEO equity, breaks existing links, leaves customers with the wrong order history, and ships a store that is offline for days. Our approach: phased migration with a double-write phase (the new store takes new orders alongside the old one while history migrates in the background), full 301 redirect mapping, and a controlled cutover in a low-traffic window.

What we deliver

  • Source audit and data mapping (products, variants, customers, orders)
  • ETL scripts for the migration, with replay support
  • SEO URL mapping and 301 redirects to preserve existing equity
  • Double-write phase for a zero-downtime cutover
  • Data validation — how many products, orders and customers actually migrated
  • Customer communication plan (email notifications about the migration if needed)

When to call us

  • The current platform no longer scales or upgrades are lagging
  • Magento 1 / WooCommerce with awkward core modifications
  • Shopware 5 — end of life is approaching or already passed
  • Multiple shops want to consolidate into one Shopware 6 instance

How we work

Source audit (1–2 weeks) → mapping spec and stakeholder validation → ETL development and first dry run in staging → double-write phase (4–8 weeks) → cutover in a low-traffic window (typically <30 min) → 30-day post-cutover hyper-care.

Frequently asked questions

Not if the migration is done right. We build a full SEO URL audit before cutover, map existing URLs to new ones, and put 301 redirects in place. The sitemap is refreshed, Google Search Console is notified. In most cases organic traffic returns to pre-migration levels in 4–8 weeks, sometimes higher.
